he numbers are really starting to stack up for former accountant, turned singer/songwriter, Amber Lawrence. It seems everything is ‘counting down’ to success for this city girl whose heart and music are pure Country!

mber hit Number 1 on the CMC Top 30 Countdown with her clip ‘Things That Bring Me Down’ (first single from “The Mile”) as well as securing Number 3 on the Country Music Radio Chart with the song. To top off her album, “The Mile” reached Number 4 on the Australian Country ARIA Chart, an amazing achievement for a debut album!

mber is a young singer/songwriter whose success comes from natural talent and four years of doing the hard yards touring, writing and honing her skills with pen and guitar before unleashing the results in an amazing debut album The Mile, produced by Rod and Jeff McCormack.

ll songs on the album are written or co-written by Amber and demonstrate a talent to combine tuneful, original melodies with polished, mature lyrics to produce songs that really connect with audiences.

onna Fly, the second single lifted from ‘The Mile’ hit #2 on the radio charts and #7 on the CMC chart and further cemented Amber’s stay-ability. “Gonna Fly” is an uplifting song about dreams and aspirations. It has a typical Amber Lawrence melody that demands toes to start tapping and Amber’s clean clear vocal delivers a refreshingly inspirational lyric that has audiences singing along on the very first hearing.

s a testament to Amber’s appeal to the audiences and industry as well as her hard earned work on the road, Amber was nominated for a Golden Guitar in not one, but two categories “Female Artist of the Year” and “Maton New Talent of Year”, wowing audiences with her live to air performance. During her time at Tamworth 08, Amber was also the ‘roving reporter’ for the 2SM radio network.

ood Girls, the third single off ‘The Mile’ is released in March 2008. An upbeat, tongue in cheek tune about one’s expectations of being the good girl or the bad girl or what society desires or judges us to be.

ll the while, Amber teamed up with 3 fellow female country artists Kirsty Lee Akers, Dianna Corcoran and Aleyce Simmonds and hit the road under “Chic Frontier”. It’s a showcase performance of the new emerging artists that says that country music and artists are well and truly alive in Australia.

mber also found time in her busy schedule to duck over to East Timor with The McClymonts to play for the troops. “It was an absolute honour to be asked to sing for our troops. It certainly made me aware of how tough their job is, and how lucky we are to live in Australia”.

mber and the McClymont sisters connected so well that they’ll now be doing some shows together in 2008. For the remainder of 2008 Amber will continue to tour the country in addition to writing and recording her 2nd album to be released early 2009.

mber’s graced the pages of key glossy publications such as Cosmopolitan and the Australian Magazine in addition to over 100 interviews around the country for the album ‘The Mile’. Not a bad start!

t’s easy to see why Amber Lawrence is a serious contender for stardom. She writes great melodic songs, she has already been voted into the Top Five Independent Entertainers of the Year at the Australian Country Music Achiever Awards and was awarded Female Vocalist of the Year at the National Southern Star Independent Awards.

mber’s early career success on radio and television, with original songs like ‘I’ve Got the Blues’ and ‘The Lonely Road’ (which made Number 4 on the Country Music Charts and remained there for several weeks) were just the beginning for this stunning brunette who only graduated from the prestigious CMAA Australian College of Country Music in 2004.

ixing with and learning from the likes of Beccy Cole, John Williamson, Kasey Chambers, Troy Cassar-Daley and Melinda Schneider helped the dynamic performer to develop her natural ability to engage audiences. Her enthusiasm and natural talent led to offers to tour with artists including Adam Harvey, James Blundell, Travis Collins and Jim Haynes and she became the most talked-about new artist at the 2007 Tamworth Country Music Festival.

mber Lawrence is proudly sponsored by Maton Guitar.
